Rope Access Case Studies Sydney

Our largest project to date: around six months of façade works on the TAFE NSW Ultimo campus, on the edge of the Sydney CBD. ACE installed the anchor points, pressure washed the façade, carried out the repairs and repainted the building entirely by rope access, with no scaffolding on a busy, occupied education site.

Before any paint went on, the team worked the façade drop by drop: concrete and render patching, crack repairs and sealant replacement across the full height of the building, completed on the same ropes as the painting works. Each repair was photographed for the client’s records.

High-pressure washing of the full façade ahead of painting, removing dirt, mould and loose material so the new coating bonds properly. Washing by rope access meant no boom lift and no scaffold on the footpath below, and the building stayed open throughout.

Rope access window cleaning on a strata apartment building in Five Dock. Technicians cleaned the external glass floor by floor using mop and squeegee with a pure water system, with a ground exclusion zone and signage keeping residents and pedestrians clear. No cherry picker, no scaffold, minimal disruption.

The team worked from certified roof anchors, cleaning glass and frames at height while the building remained fully operational. Window cleaning is often combined with a façade inspection, so the owner gets a report on any defects spotted along the way.

Repainting of corridors and common areas in a strata building in Manly, carried out by our ground painting team. Walls and ceilings were prepared, patched and repainted with floor protection and wet paint signage in place, working around residents so the building stayed accessible throughout.

Sealant replacement on buildings in Wollongong: removal of failed silicone around windows, expansion joints and façade junctions, followed by new sealant to stop water getting in. Rope access let the team reach every joint across the façade without scaffolding, and the works were completed in days rather than weeks.

Water ingress investigation on a building in the Sydney CBD. The team water tested façade elements and joints by rope access to find the actual entry point rather than guessing, then sealed it. Finding the leak first avoids paying for repairs in the wrong place.

Installation, proof load testing and annual recertification of roof and façade anchor points on strata and commercial buildings across Manly, the Sydney CBD, the Inner West, the Eastern Suburbs and Wollongong. Each anchor is tested with a calibrated pull tester, tagged and documented so the building’s height safety system is ready for the next contractor.
